Review: L'Oreal Pure clay exfo mask (the red one)

My skin is actually in a pretty good condition. However, even small feel of texture on my face annoys me and I would like it to be smooth and flawless (wouldn't we all?). I also have quite large pores on my nose and around it which are 99.99% of time clogged. Then it came a time when face masks made their breakthrough.
I also have oily skin so I chose the mattifying one. If you haven't already, you can read my thoughts on it in this post Review: L'Oreal Pure clay purify mask (the green one). Then I realized it's not strong enough for what I wanted so I got this red one too. I've had it for months now so I'm finally writing this.

Pure clay mask with piling effect for balanced complexion. Three clays with red algae. Red algae has cleansing and balancing skin properties. For radiant skin without drying. Three clays are kaolin (white clay), montmorillonite and rhassoul clay. Immediately softer skin, smoother and balanced. Pores are reduced.
How to use? Apply thin layer on a clean skin avoiding areas around eyes and lips. Use 2 to 3 times a week. Leave it to dry 5 to 10 minutes and remove with towel or warm water.
First impressions? As you know I liked the smell of the green one, but this one is even better. I, again, used my Essence flat foundation brush to apply it. It was very easy to take it out and to spread it on my face. It's less thick that the green one so it's even easier to work with it. While it dries, it changes color a bit so you know when it's done. It takes about 7 minutes for the mask to be fully dry. It's also not as tight as the green one. Again, it was not really possible to remove it only with a cloth, but warm water will do the trick.
Results? While you're getting it off, massage your face with all micro-beads in it. This is really the key to the whole mask experience, for me. Skin feels so smooth, like baby's butt (we say it like that here, do you too?). I thought the green one was doing good for my skin, but this one is about 10 steps in front of the green one. It leaves my skin really clean. It gets rid of all dead skin (more or less), but it doesn't leave my skin peeling like some other exfo masks did. My skin is also really soft, like I had the best skin care routine for the past few weeks!
Verdict? Definitely go and buy this mask! It works wonders on my skin. I've also used it 16 times so far (and I do the whole face) and I still have it for about 2 or 3 times so it's definitely worth the money. The review of the green one was left nowhere, I wasn't sure what to think about it. This one is a no-brainer. It's just a perfect mask for my skin. However, reducing pores is not happening.

So, I'm definitely buying this one again! Will you buy it? Do you have it? Which mask is your favorite?

  1. I have this mask and it doesn't really do much for my dry skin. I definitely don't use it enough, though, if you're supposed to use it 2-3 times per week to see results! I love the idea of using a brush, I always get it under my fingernails haha.
