Blogmas 2018: Holiday manicures

Blogmas 4: Silent Night
Here I am again with these manicures. You know I love them. I would absolutely love to make a YouTube channel for my manicures, but editing takes too much time and it's quite hard so that will have to wait a bit. However, that doesn't mean I don't know how to take pictures of my nails.

** On a personal note this week: 3 bullsh*ts you're frequently told!

I take whole December for these festive manicures. I usually do two weeks of just winter inspired nails, then one Christmas and one New Year inspired, but that could all be changed according to my mood and events and color scheme I'm going for... Anyhow, here are my holiday manicures. And I kid you not, I was just looking for all of my old ones and I couldn't even find the ones from last year and I had a panic attack. They're all here, I've kept them on my phone. Haha.

Note: These are all taken in the last couple of years. I'll try to put them chronologically (I hope you'll see the progress). Also, I know some are bad quality photos, but I didn't have a good camera nor did I care that much to take a good photo. Silly me.

I wasn't really good at free hand painting back in the 2015. I'm still not really good, but I was really proud of this manicure. The most complicated part is obviously the teddy bear which you can easily not include in the look if you cant't draw. I just chose fairly simple silver background and the rest was just playing around.
The only thing you need for this one is a steady hand. Everybody knows how to draw a snowflake, right? I went for the safe black and silver combination and I'm so glad I made the contrast between matte background and glitter snowflakes.
I won't lie, this one took quite a lot of time for preparation and for executing the idea. I first drew out all the lines with a pencil and then I filled it in. However that part of Poinsettia was complicated, the other nails also took a lot of time to do because I needed to dot them all and I also put individual glitter pieces in the blank spaces (which you can't really see, but were really visible on the light).
And then the New Year's came! I had a black dress with gold details so I had to go with that theme. Three nails are painted gold and covered with gold glitter while the nail polish was still wet. One nail had dropping gold glitter which tied all manicures together, in my opinion. And, of course, my favorite nail has 2 glasses of champagne with fireworks which is a complete representation of my New Year's celebration.
For the year 2016 I only had this one holiday manicure (or I somehow deleted them all). Whatever happened, I'm glad I kept this one because I still really like it. I think you can't go wrong with the green-red combination for Christmas holidays so that was my choice here too. I, again, went with glitter. Two glitter nails have green background and they turned out much better than the one with white background. Then I just added some mistletoes on my thumb and winter tree with red bow and I was done. I also like that this was the first time I did something in 3D (tree kinda has some dimension).
And it's New Year again! Unfortunately, few of my nails broke just before the big day so I had to make them all really short which turned out great for this manicure. There's so much glitter here that I'm glad they're this short. I painted 4 nails in red and literally rolled them in chunky red glitter. This other one was painted in silver and I placed all of these glitter parts one by one (and it took me ages to do it).

I decided to show you some older ones because I already showed you my 2017 manicures in the post Blogmas 2017: Holiday nails which I definitely recommend visiting because that's the year I discovered stamping so I kinda went crazy with it, but I'll let you all be the judge. Haha.

What are you wearing on your nails right now? And will you do your own nails for Christmas and New Year's or will you go to the professionals?

  1. For the first time manicure users it is necessary to check out all the conditions which are provided by the salons and do check what the prices they are charging from you and compare it with each other.

    1. Sure, but I did this myself to myself so I couldn't care less how much the salon would charge haha
