Fall favorites | 2019

** On a personal note this week: My body image journey - holding it in (part 2)

If you read any of my posts regarding this topic, you would know that I'm not a fan of fall. There are two reasons for it - rain and shorter days. However, I feel like blogging community has had its impact on me so I'm starting to see the good in it. Now I don't hate it, I only dislike it.

Anyway, there are some things I do really like in fall so I decided to share them with you. We'll see how this goes, but there should be some other stuff than just beauty...

Tag: The fall favorites

I don't know if you're familiar with the fact that I dislike fall, but I've been tagged to do this and I just love tags so I can't say no to dear Millie from Modish Rambling (her tag post is here).
Reasons why I don't really like fall is rain when I have to leave my apartment for something obligatory (I don't mind meeting my friends or going shopping, I mind going to college or work...) and because it's usually so cold in the morning and evening, but actually warm in the mid-day. But I do think fall is most fashionable and most interesting when concentrating on fashion.
Note: I did some categories Millie did, but I added some of my own. I wanted to have 10.
I do not own any of the photos. Collage is made and decorated by me.

Perfect nude - my favorite

So, I've talked about my essentials for nails here and I mentioned the nude collection. I was wearing this one nail polish for the past week and I loved it so much I had to write about it.
This is #10 Nude sweet nude nail polish from The nudes collection by Essence. I actually wouldn't call it a classic nude color as it is more bronze, but I'm so happy they incorporated a bit unusual color to this, basically monotone, collection. Although I do own more nail polishes from their nude collection, this one is my favorite. Think of it as a stand-out nude color. Isn't that great? If you, for any reason, can't wear bright/dark/glittery or any other nail polishes than the nudes, this is your color.
The coverage of it is perfect; it's really dense nail polish but so easy to apply. This is only one layer of it and have in mind this manicure is about 8 days old in these pictures. So, that's how great it is. I would, however, suggest putting a top coat on it as it's one of those nail polishes that leave stripes and marks as you pull the brush on your nail. (You can see some different stripes on my nails.) This isn't a big problem; you either have to have practice in applying these kind of nail polishes or, as I said, normal top coat. (I also wrote about my base and top coats here and here.)
That's basically it.
Do you like it? Will you consider purchasing it? Do you wear nude colors on your nails? If so, which ones do you use?

My favorites: Eye make-up

When it comes to my eye make-up, I like to keep it simple. Eye pencil is most of the times my only partner, but I do have my favorites.
My first and most important choice is Long lasting eye pencil by Essence. This shade is 01 Black Fever. For me, there is only one color made to be on the eyes and that is black. It suits me the best so I found this eye pencil perfect. It really is long lasting. It has thin pencil inside which enables me to draw straight and smooth lines around my eyes. It can't be removed with only water, but it does smudge a bit if you're sweating or in the rain, etc. It has a great roll-out system so you do not have to sharpen it like the old style pencils. Because it has a really great coverage, you need to put only small amount of it, just one layer. With that in mind, and the fact that it's really long pencil, this item could last you really long time. The price of this amazing product is only around $2. This is the best investment in my eye make-up collection I ever made. It also comes in different colors so definitely check it out. There are also a lot of products similar to this one by Essence so check it out which one suits you the best.
My next favorite product is gel eyeliner, also by Essence. This shade in particular it 01 Midnight in Paris. The only thing you need to worry about this product is the fact you'll need a perfect brush to apply it. I use gel eyeliner brush by Essence. This eyeliner is an amazing product. It is really intense, the coverage is perfect every time, the gel is waterproof. If you're looking for an eyeliner, these are what you're looking for. It comes in the cutest little round container and it is so practical. One more thing about it. If you buy a brush made for gel eyeliners (the brush should be harder than those for e.g. eyeshadow and narrower to the tip) you can just dab it in the gel once and that will be enough color for the whole eye. You don't need to scratch on the surface with it. Gel is about $4.
P.S. This isn't my eye. I'm just showing you the coverage.
Now, this is not really my favorite (only the top two products are), but I also love it. If you're more a smokey-eyes kinda girl, there is I love glam powder eyeliner and eyeshadow. It doesn't say which color this is (black of course, but the exact name isn't written) so I guess there's only black one. Great thing about this is that it leaves a darker line in the middle and smudges the edges. You basically get eye pencil, eyeliner and eyeshadow in one product. However, this is a bit trickier to work with as it has dust and little glitter in it so you have to be careful how you put it on. Besides that, application is really easy, maybe even easier than with any of the above products. When I put it on, I like to blow at it from all the sides just to be sure all extra dust is gone. As for the items above, this one also lasts a long time since you only need a small amount to make a line. However, this one is not proven to be waterproof. So be careful with it.

My favorites - nails!

Since I love painting my nails I have quite a big collection for someone who doesn't do it professionally. Of course, I have some pieces which I love and which I buy over and over. Here are my favorites...
Before you start: click on the picture for a larger display.
Here is my all time favorite transparent base coat by Essence (I've mentioned it before). What is so great about it is the fact that the bottle is big but it doesn't dry. I have it for months now and it is the same as the day that I bought it. Also the brush is perfect combination of thick and thin and suits my nails really well. Another great thing is the price.
Black nail polish on the right is also by Essence. Until a week ago, I had some other black nail polish. I had to put on three to four coats to get black nails. I thought all of them worked like that until I discovered this one. One coat is actually enough, but I prefer two. Great coverage and quality.

This on the left is matte effect top coat by BeautyUK. They are not usually the brand that I buy products from but this matte effect is great. You could see the effect in my previous post. I just love it.
I recently purchased this matte green nail polish on the right. It is by GoldenRose. They have the entire collection of beautiful matte nail polishes and I want them all after trying on this one. One coat is enough and as it dries, it gets this perfect matte effect and you don't have to worry that some parts will stay shiny.
This is my collection of stripy nail polishes. They all here are by Essence. As you already know (I hope), these are nothing special, the only difference is they come in these little cute bottles with thin brushes. Quality of the polish is the same as any other Essence's nail polish. (And I love it.) The thing is, these are great if you are a beginner or you just don't want to spend extra money on different brushes and pallets to put your nail polishes in. All in all these are a lot of fun.
